Emina Gazibera

Born on 15th January 1998 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. In 2017 she graduated at the School of Economics. Since then she attends VIST – Faculty of Applied Sciences in Ljubljana, Slovenia where she studies photography. Her daily job for the past two years is a camera operator and an editor for Spletna TV, a public broadcaster of Slovenian Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Her passion is creating music videos in sign language so that the music can also be enjoyed by the hearing impaired. She is one of the photographers at Kino Otok, a film festival in Izola, Slovenia. She also works as a photographer at other events. She is looking forward to creating more short or even feature films in the future.

Professional Amateurs (Profesionalna amaterja, 2022) is her directorial debut. This mockumentary depicting an amateur film community in Slovenia was created as an assignment during her study at VIST – Faculty of Applied Sciences in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Since the first public screening in Radovljica, Slovenija the movie won: The Audience Award at Klub Kratkih, a short film festival in Radovljica, Slovenia; A Special Mention Award at FNF, a festival of an independent film in Ljubljana, Slovenia; Best Comedy Award at Kino Bled, a film festival in Bled, Slovenia and Best Movie Award at FLIF, a festival of amateur film in Tržič, Slovenia. The film was also screened at the most prominent film festival in Slovenia – Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož. Its screening at the K3 Film Festival in Villach, Austria is the first international one.
