Thomas Hörl and Peter Kozek have been working together on performative projects since 2003. Using masks, costumes and ritual objects, as well as site-specific processions, they generate fictional narratives with their strongly ethnographic or anthropological approach, which are based on historically charged and often indeed disturbing elements of popular local myths and rituals. Their projects are often developed in multi-level participatory processes and are translated into film.
