Rosa, a delicate Italian, and Igor, a hefty Slovenian are an ageing couple living together for years in Trieste. The traumatic event of losing their daughter will draw a boundary between them and call into question their sense of identity and existence.
Dramatic, but still very romantic, the movie tells a lifelong love story with its obscure, secret, and deep aspects. Death is also a border, but facing its dark sides leads to life.
