After leaving a theatre studies program, Katharina Schmirl began acting training at the Elfriede Ott Academy in Vienna, graduating in 2022. During her studies she created her first own stage and film projects and performed in theatres in Vienna and Lower Austria. For her role in MEERESRAUSCH // SOMEWHERE IN TEXAS, she was nominated in 2025 for the Max Ophüls Prize for Best Young Actor. She is currently engaged at the Landestheater Niederbayern.
