Domenico Distilo

Domenico Distilo is an award-winning Italian director and screenwriter. A graduate of Rome’s Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia -Italian national film school, his diploma documentary film Inatteso premiered at the Berlinale’s Forum section in 2006. Known for his socially engaged documentaries, Distilo has worked extensively in Italy and Germany, with films broadcast on Italian national television. His work explores multicultural identities, memory, and travels, as seen in titles like Manga Do – Igort and the Way of Manga, Roma Imaginary, and Urban Extremes, Jerusalem. He is a former alumni at Biennale College and a Berlinale Talent. He is a recipient of the Solinas Prize for Best Screenplay and has held DAAD fellowships for research in visual and transmedia storytelling.
