Three climbers attempt to reach a legendary summit via a near-impossible route called “Dark Vertigo.” Decades earlier, legendary mountaineers Boldrin and Jugovic disappeared without a trace on the same ascent. Ignoring the locals’ warnings, the three friends press on toward the Valley of Shadows, accompanied by a strange presence.
Adrenaline-fuelled and with a skilful crescendo of tension, “Dark Vertigo” marks an important turning point for Soldi, as it marks his return to feature-length fiction films many years after the grotesque cult classic “Nero” (1992), after a long and acclaimed career devoted mainly to the making of documentaries linked to the world of comics and pop culture.
