Wir sind schon unglaublich gespannt, was in diesem Jahr wieder alles gedreht, animiert und geschnitten wurde. Viele haben ihre Filme bereits eingereicht – aber damit uns auch wirklich nichts aus diesem 3-Kulturenraum entgeht, hier noch einmal die große Erinnerung an unseren OPEN CALL! Bis zum 30. September könnt ihr eure Filme noch zur Sichtung einreichen!

Beim Festival des slowenischen Films (22. bis 27. Oktober, Portorož) hingegen wird gerade der Ackerboden für künftige Projekte aufbereitet: Am 23. Oktober findet dort das zweite Koproduktionstreffen zwischen Österreich und Slowenien statt; das erste war bei der Diagonale im Frühling, das dritte – nomen est omen – folgt im Dezember bei uns beim K3 Film Festival. Wer sein Projekt pitchen oder sich einfach nur vernetzen möchte, ist herzlich eingeladen. Der Leiter des K3 Film Festivals, Fritz Hock, wird dabei sein – genauso wie die Carinthia Film Commission mit Martina Plamenig, das ÖFI mit Roland Teichmann, das Slovenian Film Centre mit Nataša Bučar und hoffentlich auch du!

We’re incredibly excited to see what has been filmed, animated, and edited this year! Many of you have already submitted your films, but to make sure we don’t miss anything from the 3-culture region, here’s a reminder for our OPEN CALL! You can submit your films until September 30th.

Meanwhile, at the Festival of Slovenian Film (October 22-27, Portorož), groundwork is being laid for future projects: on October 23rd, the second co-production meeting between Austria and Slovenia will take place (the first was at Diagonale in the spring, and the third – as the name suggests – will be at K3 in December). If you’d like to pitch your project or simply network, you’re warmly invited to join. Fritz Hock, director of the K3 Film Festival, will be there, along with Martina Plamenig from the Carinthia Film Commission, Roland Teichmann from the Austrian Film Institute, Nataša Bučar from the Slovenian Film Centre, and hopefully you too!

CALL FOR FILMS

Types of Films:

• Short films
• Feature-length films

Regions:

• Carinthia (Austria)
• Friuli-Venezia Giulia (Italy)
• Slovenia

Regional Eligibility:
(Meet at least one of the following criteria)

• Director: Born or resident in one of the three regions.
• Filming Location: Located in one of the three regions.
• Support: Received from a public institution in one of the three regions.

Formal Eligibility:

• Genres: Open to all
• Duration:
  • Shorts: Up to 30 min
  • Mid-Length: Eligible only for special programmes, not for competition
  • Feature-length: Min. 70 min
• Release: No theatrical release in Austria before K3 FF
• Completion Date: Works must have been finished after 01.01.2022 OR be a world premiere.
• Subtitles: Films can be submitted without subtitles, but if selected, English subtitles are obligatory.
